Want to find a fun way to spend time with your little cherub on Valentine's Day? Not sure that he or she is ready to attend an official party yet due to his or her young age? Want to find a way to let your son or daughter know just how much they mean to you without spending a lot of money? Here's how you host a fantastic Valentine's Day for your toddler!
Plan a special afternoon with your little tyke and share all there is to know about love. Watch in amazement as he or she grows more and more excited about the events that you have planned. Bursting with love, the two of you will form a bond that knows no boundaries. Your child will look back at this day with fond memories.
It Takes Two
Select an activity that is interactive and requires your assistance. A great Valentine Day's craft project is perfect for celebrating the holiday. Why not try your hand at making your very own Valentines? All you need is some scissors, construction paper, old magazines, glitter, glue, and cupcake liners. Help your child select pretty pictures from the pages of the magazines. Help them cut the images out and then glue them to the colored construction paper. Flatten the cupcake liner and glue the handmade card on top of it. Top it all off with glitter and a sentimental message.
A Lovely Treat for All Ages
Purchase a can of cinnamon rolls. Remove all the rolls from the package. With clean hands, have your child roll the dough into one long strip. Place the roll in the pan and bring the sides in to form a heart. Sprinkle with colored sugar and cinnamon flavored candy hearts. Bake according to the instructions on the package. Let the sugary treat cool before serving.
A Recycled Gift Your Child Will Love
Save up all of your child's broken crayons and remove the wrappers. Put them in a large pot and melt until the wax is smooth. Pour the mixture in heart shaped soap molds and allow them to harden. Once they have cooled down, pop them out of the mold, and wrap them in different colored tissue paper. Purchase a new coloring book to go with the 'new' gift and present it to your child as a token of love.
Xs and Os
Show your child affection in every way imaginable. Hug and kiss them. Tell them how much they make you smile. Write them a keepsake love letter and take them for a walk so you can read it to them. Slip a paper heart in the pocket of their jacket when they are not looking. Let them decide what you should cook for dinner. These small gestures will make a monumental impact on your little one.
It won't be long before your child has grown up and moved away. Make the time that you spend together matter while he or she is still young enough to appreciate it. You can make the day very special by even 'sending' them a Valentine's Day invitation so that your little loved one can gather excitement for this fun day!
